Arrival by car
From the A73, take the “Erlangen-Nord” exit and follow the signs for “Uni-Kliniken”. There are only a limited number of short-stay and day-use parking spaces available in the hospital area. Please use the Uni-Kliniken/Kussmaulallee 14 multi-storey car park (access via Palmsanlage). Long-stay parking spaces are also available in the large car park to the west of the railway station.
Please note that if you are coming from the east, on the ‘Hindenburgstraße–Neue Straße’ route (towards the city centre), access via Maximiliansplatz to the Surgical Centre (outpatient clinics), the Children’s Hospital and the Head and Neck Clinics is permitted for emergencies only. From the direction of the city centre, access from Neue Straße via Maximiliansplatz is unrestricted.
Parking
Parking
There are very few short-stay parking spaces (15–30 mins) available in front of the hospital entrances. The Kussmaulallee car park, which has 380 spaces for daily and weekly parking, can be accessed via the Palmsanlage. Please note that the Uni-Kliniken / Kussmaulallee 14 car park is usually full from 9.30 am on weekdays, and from then until around 1 pm there may be traffic congestion and waiting times of over an hour at the entrance. It is therefore strongly recommended that you use the large car park behind the main railway station and travel from there to the University Hospitals on the free City-Linie (runs every 15 minutes / journey time 10 minutes) or take a taxi.
