Deep Learning in Neuropathology - 1st AI-based histopathology classifier for FCD is published online
Congratulations to Jörg Vorndran for his recent publication of a new deep learning algorithm classifying various subtypes of Focal Cortical Dysplasia
Jörg Vorndran is a PhD student at FAU and member of our "Deep Learning Morphology" working group led by Samir Jabari, MD. Jörg developed a first DL-based classifier for an automatic detection of cortical dysplasia (according to the updated ILAE classification scheme of 2022) on HE-stained and fully digitized microscopy slides. His manuscript was accepted for publication in the internationally renown and peer-reviewed journal "Neural Computing and Applications" (impact factor 5.102). We congratulate Jörg for his huge committment and success.
