19th Annual Meeting of the Society for Biological Radiation Research

GBS 2016

The local organizers of the GBS Annual Meeting 2016 would like to cordially invite you to the “Medical Valley EMN” of the beautiful city of Erlangen. The meeting will be held from 26th to 28th September 2016. We will not only cover diverse and innovative aspects of interdisciplinary radiation research, but also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Gesellschaft für Biologische Strahlenforschung e.V.”. Focus will be set on: - DNA damage and related responses induced by ionizing and non-ionizing radiation - Radiation responses of cells and tissues: from local events to systemic effects with emphasis on preclinical animal models of radiation therapy and response - Radiation risk, cancer induction and anti-cancer reactions: the tumor and its microenvironment - Biomarkers and strategies to modify radiation responses as well as imaging the effects of radiation exposure For further information please visit the site of the Department of Radiation Oncology or the BLOG of the Radiation-Immunobiology Group.

Dear GBS members and scientists with interest in radiation research,

The local organizers of the GBS Annual Meeting 2016 would like to cordially invite you to the “Medical Valley EMN” of the beautiful city of Erlangen. The meeting will be held from 26th to 28th September 2016.

Abstract and early registration deadline: 13th June 2016

The meeting will not only cover diverse and innovative aspects of interdisciplinary radiation research, but also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Gesellschaft für Biologische Strahlenforschung e.V.”. Focus will be set on:

  • DNA damage and related responses induced by ionizing and non-ionizing radiation
  • Radiation responses of cells and tissues: from local events to systemic effects with emphasis on preclinical animal models of radiation therapy and response
  • Radiation risk, cancer induction and anti-cancer reactions: the tumor and its microenvironment
  • Biomarkers and strategies to modify radiation responses as well as imaging the effects of radiation exposure

The newest “tradition” of GBS, the successful GBS Young Investigators Session will again open the conference.

To ensure that also non-GBS members take notice of the conference, we kindly ask you to forward this announcement to your co-workers and particularly to scientists not directly associated with radiation research.
The GBS again allocates travel awards to PhD students on the basis of their abstract evaluation.

We are happily looking forward to welcome you in 2016 for the GBS Annual Meeting in Erlangen!
Kind regards

The Local Organizing Committee of the GBS 2016
